there be和have的含義和用法不同，there be句型表達的是“在某個地方存在某人、某物等”，have/has則表示“某人擁有某物”。當主語為第三人稱單數時，使用has；其他人稱作主語，則使用have。在there be句型中，主語是單數，be動詞用is；主語是復數，be動詞用are。

there be 指客觀存在，表示“某處有某人/某物”；have指所屬關系，表示“某人/某物有某物”。

eg: There are all kinds of books on my bookstore. 我的書柜上有各種各樣的書。

I have all kinds of books. 我有各種各樣的書。

句中位置不同

there be 通常放于句首，而have在句中。

eg: There is a post office near here.這附近有郵局。

The Green Street has two post offices. 格林大街上有兩家郵局。

there be 句型為“There is/are+某物/某人+某地”;have句型為“某人/某物+have/has+某物”。用is/are或者have/has取決于句子的主語。

eg: There are two girls and a boy in the room. 房間里有兩個女孩和一個男孩。

There is a boy and two girls in the room.房間里有一個男孩和兩個女孩。

there be 連接兩個主語時遵循“就近原則”。

Tom has a basketball.

湯姆有一個籃球。

疑問與否定句結構不同

there be的疑問句只需把be提前，“Be there…”，意為“有……嗎？”否定句在be后加not，“There be not…”意為“沒有……”;而have的要借助與助動詞，主語為為第一人稱，第二人稱，第三人稱復數，名詞復數時為“do/don't”， 主語為第三人稱單數或名詞單數時為“does/doesn't”,疑問句結構為“Do/Does+主語+have+…”，否定結構為“主語+don't/doesn't+have+…”。

eg: Is there a hospital in your neighborhood?在你的街區里有醫院嗎？

Are there any students in the classroom?教室里有學生嗎？
